2021 Accomplishments
- Assisted several of the Glory Bound Fellowship Food Pantry events.
- Elected new Vice President ( Katharine Klise ) and Director ( Fran Rupley ) for 2 year terms
- Christine and Jeremy Moultin of Olive Crush Farms/Provisions became new members in June
- Moved meetings from Burson Fire Station to the Burson Lion's Club Building. This change, which costs the WBA $25/Month, was approved by members.
- Mountain Oaks Scholarships awarded to Orion Walter and Annaliese Hamari.
- Calaveras High School Scholarships awarded to Emmalee Miles, Allan Ramos, and Mariah Montanez Robles.
- Field of Flags for 2021. Community purchased 114 flags with129 dedications.
- Two Highway 12 Clean up events.
- Participated in the Tri-Lakes Baptist Church Trunk/Treat event.
- Held public discussion of a citizen’s initiative on next year’s ballot to add a 1% sales tax to further fund fire protection in Calaveras County. The discussion was led by Dana Nichols (retired fire fighter) and Faith (a volunteer Lieutenant Engineer).
- Held Yard/Holiday Craft Sales event on October 1 and October 2. All funds generated will support Santa Smiles, Resource Connection, and Scholarship awards.
- Sponsored 15 adoptees in support of the Calaveras Health and Human Services Santa Smiles program.
