Our Purpose
Serve the Wallace and Burson communities by encouraging, creating and implementing public and charitable activities beneficial to the community interest, to affirm community values, and to provide opportunities for participation in community improvement projects.
Founded in 1966, the Wallace Burson Association (WBA) is recognized as a non-profit organization. Our Federal Employee Identification Number is 680434817 and our California Corporate Number is C2759131. All qualifying contributions are tax-deductable.
Key Activities
- Sponsor public discussions to enhance community knowledge in important subjects including fire prevention, recycling, local educators, library representatives, adult literacy, local officials, and other topics of community interest.
- Organize the Field of Flags (For Love and Gratitude) to show appreciation for those that serve our country. Flags are displayed on Highway 12 southwest from the Wallace post office during the Independence holiday period.
- Keep Highway 12 clean between Southworth Rd and Burson Rd to improve community aesthetics.
- Sponsor the Santa Smiles program to provide food, clothing, and gifts for the underprivileged in our communities.
- Support for the US Marine's Toys for Tots Program.
- Participate in the Trunk-or-Treat program to provide our community’s young members an opportunity to unite for food and fun.
- Scholarship to encourage our youth to achieve higher education.
- Support other local charities focused in our communities, including the Valley Springs Youth Center, Calaveras Rotary Club, and the American Legion, for example.
